Bonnie's career life has focused on serving others. She began her work as the Director of Social Services for a nursing home in the metro. Returning to her hometown, she served as the Home Care and Hospice Social Worker at New Ulm Medical Center. At that time, she also provided grief counseling for the families of the patients served in those programs. Bonnie's mental health based work with New Ulm Medical Center began with adults in the day treatment program and then in a community based rehabilitation program.
After finishing her Master's degree in Social Work from St. Thomas University and St. Catherine's University she became an outpatient mental health therapist working with children, adults, families, and couples. Bonnie specializes in play techniques, emotional support during active oncology treatment and survivorship, grief and loss, and geriatric care.
In Bonnie's free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family. She enjoys the outdoors, going to the lake, running, scrapbooking and attending her children's activities. She also enjoys taking care of her cat Jack, feeding the birds and offering treats to the neighborhood dogs.
